We know starting with a new mental health provider (or switching to a new one) can feel daunting. Here's exactly what happens, step by step.
Book your appointment online and share your insurance details when you do. Our team verifies your benefits first, so you know your exact coverage and copay before anything else happens. Questions along the way? Text us at (516) 200-1835.
Paying privately? You'll still book online and share your basic information, there's just no insurance to verify. Private pay is a flat $300 per session.
This is just a quick, friendly conversation. We'll ask what's bringing you in, answer any questions you have, and make sure we're actually the right fit for you. No sales pitch, no pressure.
After the call, watch for an email from SimplePractice, our secure patient portal. Intake forms, consents, and payment details are all handled online before your first visit. The forms cover your medical history, symptoms, and current medications, so your actual appointment is about you, not paperwork. Once your account is set up, you can sign in anytime through the Patient Portal link at the top of this site.
This is the appointment most people dread but end up being grateful for. Your dedicated provider (a nurse practitioner on our team) reserves up to a full hour to understand your story โ not just check boxes.
We'll go over your symptoms, your history, what's working, what isn't, and what your goals are. If medication is appropriate, we'll discuss options, side effects, and what to expect. Nothing happens without your input.
In the beginning, we check in more frequently to see how you're responding to treatment and make any adjustments. Once things are stable, visits space out to monthly or as needed. You always see the same provider. Follow-ups are focused and efficient by design: how you're responding, side effects, dose adjustments. Care that fits into a busy week.
For scheduling and prescription issues, like a pharmacy problem or a refill hiccup, message us through the secure patient portal, or text us if that's easier (standard texting is not encrypted). Messages are answered during office hours (10 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Friday). Clinical questions, medication changes, and new symptoms are handled in a scheduled visit, where they get real attention.
Mental health isn't a "one and done" thing. Life changes, stressors evolve, and your treatment should evolve with you. Your provider stays with you long-term, monitoring your progress and adjusting your plan as needed, with a psychiatrist-led clinical structure behind them.
Think of us as your mental health home base. We're here when you need us.

Yes. If ADHD medication is clinically appropriate after a thorough evaluation, our providers can prescribe stimulant and non-stimulant medications. We follow evidence-based prescribing guidelines.
We focus on psychiatric evaluation and medication management. If you'd benefit from therapy alongside medication, we can coordinate with your therapist or help connect you with one.
Medication is never forced or pressured. We'll discuss all your options, explain benefits and risks, and respect your decision. Many patients want to start with understanding their diagnosis first.
